Serrated Patch Knife w/ Special Wood Handle

Here is one of my standard blades, but with my hand made serrations. Handle is from a special tree in a special place.

This knife is not for sale - my wife couldn't part with it.  The wood may look old and unimpressive, but it is full of memories for my family.

Here's the story:

On our first date, I brought my girlfriend (now my wife) to my family land in Texas and we drove under a huge oak tree that held part of an old barbed wire fence.  Several years later when I proposed to my girlfriend, it was near the old oak.  Then I built our home on the side of the hill by that pin oak tree and when the kids came along, I strung a rope swing up high in its branches so they could sail through the air.  I raised sheep, goats, and calves in it's shade, and my wife tucked her chickens in under its long shadows.

Now the years have gone by and we no longer live on our Texas ranch, but when I heard that the elements took their toll on our pin oak tree and it finally buckled and broke under its own weight, I knew what I had to do.  I brought a part of it home and made my wife this knife.

Nope, this knife is not for sale, but I would be honored to make your family an heirloom from a special tree.
